Steve Johnson

Senior Trainer & Facilitator

Steve Johnson is a senior trainer and facilitator principally for the military customers of ASHER. He provides strategic planning, senior program management, subject matter expert, and sales and marketing consulting services to commercial customers, government organizations and program offices, and educational institutions. Mr. Johnson is a Managing Director of Source Companies LLC, an investment banking and value growth consulting company providing debt capitalization and growth advisory services to medium-sized, closely-held businesses. Mr. Johnson also serves as a Technology and Business Advisor to the William J. von Liebig Center for Entrepreneurism and Technology Advancement at the Erwin and Joan Jacobs School of Engineering, University of California, San Diego.

Mr. Johnson is a dynamic and energizing trainer who consistently achieves the highest ratings from his students. His interactive seminars are filled with illustrative and entertaining examples from his extensive commercial experience in growth consulting and selling advanced technology products and engineering and professional services, and his over 30 years of government service, including 13 years as a senior government buyer and Source Selection Authority (SSA) for the acquisition of over $4B of government equipment and services.

Mr. Johnson is a graduate of Duke University (physics) and the Major Program Managers Course, Defense Systems Management College. He commanded a nuclear powered fast attack submarine. He is certified and served as a Department of Defense Major Acquisition Program Manager (Level III). His final active duty assignment was as Navy Director of Y2K Remediation, responsible for directing the remediation of the Year 2000 computer faulty-date-logic problem across the entire U.S. Navy enterprise.
